WEST WALES RECLAMATION

West Wales Reclamation and Salvage

Located in the pretty town of Machynlleth, West Wales Reclamation and Salvage is a veritable Aladdin’s cave of treasures that we love to visit. We first travelled down to Machynlleth in search of slate roof tiles but came away with much more including the perfect door for the wheelhouse. Featuring everything from Welsh slate slabs to chimney pots, the yard is great fun to explore and you never know what you will discover. Our fabulous finds have ranged from a huge aluminium cooking pot to the perfect table for filleting fish and metal bars for making dumbbells. OK, our wish list has proved to be a little left field, but if it’s just bricks and baths you are looking for, you will find those too. Check out the company’s Facebook page for the latest arrivals.

The extensive yard at West Wales Reclamation and Storage is complemented by an indoor emporium of antiques and interesting bric a brac. Rattan chairs and walking sticks vie for space with mahogany display cabinets. It’s the perfect place to browse for special pieces.

There’s much to enjoy in and around Machynlleth. If you happen to be in the area, drop into West Wales Reclamation and Salvage where you will receive excellent service from the friendly staff.  The opening hours are 10am to 5pm Monday – Saturday. It takes roughly 90 minutes to reach Machynlleth from The Woollen Mill but there is so much to enjoy in the area that you will be glad you made the trip.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome at West Wales Reclamation. They are able to accompany you when you explore both the yard and the inside area. Take care when exploring the antiques as it would be easy for your dogs to knock things over!

Directions

From the Woollen Mill, head for the A487 and travel south towards Porthmadog. After passing Porthmadog, you will drive under a metal bridge and then arrive at a roundabout. Turn left at the roundabout towards Penryhndeudraeth (A487). Keep on this road which becomes the A470. Remain on the A470 until you reach Machynlleth. The salvage yard is on your left before the station.
