Trefor

TREFOR

Pretty Trefor Harbour

There’s only a short stretch of beach at Trefor but it is sandy and the picturesque harbour is a nice place to take a short stroll. As the harbour boasts a relatively generous car park, you can usually find a space and it is only a few steps onto the beach. When the tide is out, it is possible to walk around the headland to a longer beach. Alternatively, walk in the opposite direction and join the Wales Coast Path to enjoy a pleasant 4km circular hike.

Trefor is located on the Llyn Peninsula just 15 minutes from The Woollen Mill. It’s a nice place to head for if you fancy a short stroll in the evening and dogs are permitted on the beach throughout the year. The beach is popular with families, so don’t expect splendid isolation but Trefor has much to recommend it nonetheless.

Dogs

Dogs are allowed on the beach at Trefor throughout the year and will enjoy a paddle or a swim in the harbour. Ball chasing isn’t a great idea when the beach is busy but in the winter, you might find that you have the place to yourself.
